I want to start a blog written by a fictitious character commenting on politics, current events, news etc..How?

Well, first you have to decide whether you want to host it on a free blog or on a web site.

Both are fairly easy to setup. The downside to free hosting is that you can’t resell your blog and you don’t have as much customization options as you do when you host it on a web server.

If you want to host it free go to http://www.blogger.com

So, then you create some posts, the better they are the better for your blog.
